Introduction
The Zawiya has delivered community-based arts and cultural events that reflect the beauty of traditional Sufi teachings. This has included:
- Qasida (poetry) concerts
- Poetry readings
- Drama
- Short Films
- Multi-Cultural Walking Tour
- Calligraphy Workshops
Wherever possible we seek to cultivate local community talent. Our artists, performers and speakers have contributed to a variety of national, international events and inter-faith programmes.
With the current COVID-19 pandemic posing many challenges for all public events and workshops are temporarily withdrawn. However, we have endeavoured in providing virtual activities such as poetry sessions, for the younger community as a means of expressing oneself.

Fun and interactive singing classes between 5-12 years of age, as a means of building confidence and promoting personal and social development. Sessions consist of:

The Zawiya has participated in various international, and inter-faith programmes, which compromise of poetries from various cultrual backgrounds.
Multi-faith concert
An event at All Saints Church, organised by Bridging Spiritual Cultures as part of the multi-faith week to promote common values.
EU Delegation
A visit by students of Social Anthropology from EU to explore cultural diversity in Birmingham.
